METU has a rare campus that consists of striking parts within a well-functioning holistic system. The main principle for the student center building and square, which will be located in the center of the campus area, which has many striking architecture structures, was to create a design concept that could be a part of this totality, could be combined with other different place sequences and could stand out with its architectural identity.
One of the main ideas in the design of the student center building was the formation of an inner spine parallel to the pedestrian axis formed between the gym and the land area, and transforming this backbone into an architectural identity. This axle, which continues as a circulation area in the whole structure, has assumed the role of an axle that connects all the components of the building together and that is transparent between the gym and the student center with a narrow space and widening the perception of the area.
